If you have been putting off booking your summer 2027 holiday, today is the day to act. easyJet has officially launched its Big Seat Release — its annual batch drop of summer flights — and prices are at their lowest right now. Money expert Martin Lewis has called this release window "the cheapest predictable moment" to book easyJet flights, because prices only go up once demand kicks in.

The flights cover the full peak summer period from 14 June to 26 September 2027, including school holidays. Whether you are after a Mediterranean beach break, a European city trip or somewhere further afield, the full catalogue of destinations is now open to book.

Hold On — Visa Holders Need to Read This Before Booking

If you are in the UK on a visa — whether that is a Skilled Worker visa, Graduate visa, Student visa, Spouse visa, or any other leave to remain — booking a flight to travel next summer is not as simple as clicking confirm. There are several things you need to check first, and getting any of them wrong could mean you waste money on a flight you cannot use, or worse, you leave the UK and cannot get back in.

⚠️ Do Not Book Until You Have Checked Your Visa Expiry Date

Summer 2027 is a full year away. If your current visa expires before your planned return date, you need to apply for an extension before you book — not after. Booking a flight you cannot legally use because your visa runs out while you are abroad is a costly and stressful mistake that we see happen regularly.

The Five Things Every UK Visa Holder Must Check Before Booking

Pre-Booking Visa Checklist for UK Residents
1
Check your visa expiry date against your return flight date. If your visa expires before you plan to return to the UK, you cannot re-enter. You either need to extend your visa before travelling, or change your travel dates. Do not assume you can sort this from abroad — you cannot.
2
Check your BRP (Biometric Residence Permit) expiry date. Your BRP and your visa can have different expiry dates. You need a valid BRP to board your flight home to the UK. If your BRP expires before your return date, apply for a replacement before you travel.
3
Check how many days you have spent outside the UK. Many UK visas — including those on the route to settlement or British citizenship — have restrictions on how many days you can spend abroad per year. If you are close to your limit, an extra summer holiday could jeopardise your Indefinite Leave to Remain or citizenship application.
4
Check whether you need a visa for your destination country. UK visa holders do not automatically have the travel rights that British passport holders enjoy. Depending on your nationality and the country you are visiting, you may need to apply for a separate visa for your destination. Spain, France, Italy and Greece are in the Schengen Area — check if your passport requires a visa or the new ETIAS authorisation (launching in 2026).
5
Check if there are any travel restrictions on your current visa. Some visa conditions restrict travel to certain countries, or require you to inform the Home Office before travelling. If you are on immigration bail or subject to reporting conditions, you must get permission before booking any international travel.

Quick Guide: Can I Travel and Return to the UK on My Visa?

Visa Type Can I Travel Freely? Key Watch Out
Skilled Worker Visa Generally yes Absences over 180 days per year can affect ILR eligibility
Graduate Visa Generally yes Check visa expiry — Graduate visas are 2 years (3 for PhD). No ILR route directly from this visa
Student Visa Check first Travelling during term time may breach your conditions. Check with your university
Spouse / Family Visa Generally yes Long absences can disrupt the 5-year residence requirement for ILR
ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) Yes Do not travel for more than 2 years continuously or you lose your ILR status
Immigration Bail No — get permission first You must get written permission before any travel. Booking without this is a breach of conditions
Pending visa application Do not travel If your application is pending and you leave the UK, your application may be treated as withdrawn
💡 One More Thing — the New ETIAS for Europe

If you hold a non-EU passport and plan to visit any Schengen country (Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Germany and more), the EU's new ETIAS travel authorisation system is expected to launch in 2026. This is a pre-travel online check — similar to the US ESTA — that non-EU nationals will need before entering Schengen countries visa-free. If your passport normally allows visa-free Schengen travel, you will need ETIAS on top of that. Check the latest guidance on the official EU ETIAS website before booking.

Why Book Early — And Why Martin Lewis Is Right

easyJet uses dynamic pricing, which means fares go up as demand increases. The day a new season goes on sale is the one moment when demand is at zero — because the flights did not exist to book before today. That is why Martin Lewis calls this the cheapest predictable moment. Every day that passes, more people book, more seats fill, and prices rise.

If you have already done your visa checks and you are confident you can travel and return, booking today is the smartest move. The £22.99 fares will not be around for long — and summer 2027 school holiday dates in particular will fill up quickly.

If you are not sure about your visa situation, get advice first and then book — not the other way around. A missed flight or an unrefundable booking because of a visa issue is an expensive lesson. Visa Tracker can help you check your status and plan your travel around your immigration timeline.
